10 years of finding right people for job

An organisation that provides a link between people with a disability and the business community is accustomed to success stories.

Hunter LabourForce Solutions has clocked up a decade of providing specialist employment services, catering to the specific needs of people with disabilities as well as helping them into jobs.

Based at High Street, Maitland, the organisation also assists people with marketing themselves for job placement, individual employment plans, training, work experience and on going support.

“Almost four million Australians have a disability and people with a disability represent 16.6 per cent of Australia’s working age population,” Hunter LabourForce Solutions manager Kylie Tegg said.

“In today’s business landscape, it is very important for employers to reflect the diversity of the community in which they operate.”

During its 10-year history, Hunter LabourForce Solutions has provided businesses with committed staff to fulfil their vacant positions, both with individual workers and small teams.

Hunter LabourForce Solutions’ staff can provide on and off the job training in specific skills when a job description is developed.

A work trial can be arranged to demonstrate skills and allow development.

The organisation also handles all paperwork on subsidies and, if necessary, employee and co-worker training with ongoing support to refresh existing skills or to introduce new ones, enabling the job description to broaden.

“It is absolutely necessary that we match the correct client and employer together as it makes the experience mutually beneficial,” Ms Tegg said.

“We also provide employers with continual training services at no cost, administrative support and assistance with obtaining access to government incentive schemes.”
