Teenage lawn bowler shows life on the greens is not just for retirees
26/08/2008 | The popularity of lawn bowls is on the rise, thanks to the enthusiasm of players such as 15-year-old Maitland High School student Riley Wells. Travelling to Armidale to compete in the Secondary Lawn Bowls competition from today until Thursday, Wells brings a fresh-faced enthusiasm to a sport previously thought to be the reserve of retirees.
Bowling into State titles
14/08/2008 | Telarah Bowling Club yesterday played host to the Zone 6 qualifiers for the 2008 Travelex NSW Open. The statewide meet will see $30,000 in prize money go up for grabs in singles, pairs and fours when it is held at Taren Point Bowling Club next month.
